GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE BORDER OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION OF A MINOR:

From the age of 14, children must have their own passports.
If a child under 18 travels with one of the parents, the parent must have a child's birth certificate and internal Russian passports.
If a child under 18 leaves with one of the parents and has a different surname, it is necessary to have consent to leave from the second parent or a document confirming his absence, a child's birth certificate and an internal Russian passport.
If a child under the age of 18 leaves alone, then they must have consent to leave from both parents.
Consent to the departure of children is drawn up in notary offices at the place of residence. Please note that some consular services require original consents when issuing visas and they will not be returned. In this case, it is better to immediately draw up two consent forms for the departure of the child.

This spring I decided to go to the Czech Republic, many friends have already been there, some have even moved to this country. And everyone, as one, said that the blooming one is simply beautiful: the whole city is strewn with pink petals, and the weather is wonderful.

I am a traveler with quite significant experience, my passport already has several visas, including Schengen ones, so I did not even think about contacting any agency for help in planning a trip, I decided to organize everything myself.
The first issue that had to be resolved was obtaining a visa. I heard from friends that this procedure is not so difficult for the Czech Republic, the set of documents is standard for a Schengen visa, the employees at the consulate are friendly.

Where can I apply for a visa

Personally, I served in Moscow. Here, applications are accepted at the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic at ul. Yu Fucik 12/14 (by appointment only).

And also at the Czech Visa Application Center at st. Suschevsky Val 31/2 (in the order of the general queue).

When applying at the visa center, you will have to pay an extra 22 euros at the current rate for his services. This is perhaps its main disadvantage.

There is no need to overpay at the Embassy, but making an appointment is not very easy, although it all depends on the season. Otherwise, there is not much difference where you decide to submit, the waiting period for finished documents does not differ at all.

Visa service centers can also be found in Rostov-on-Don, Novosibirsk, Kazan, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Voronezh, Novorossiysk, Smolensk, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Krasnodar, Omsk and in the city.

Residents of the Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Pskov, Murmansk, Novgorod, Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions, the Republic of Karelia can apply for a Schengen visa at the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in St. Petersburg or at the visa center in St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Pskov, Nizhny Novgorod, Vologda, Arkhangelsk, Petrozavodsk, Murmansk and Vyborg. Residents of the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan and Tyumenks regions can apply for a Schengen visa at the Consulate General of the Czech Republic or at the visa center in Yekaterinburg.

Do not forget that both the consulate and visa centers are closed on Czech public holidays. These are New Year, Easter Monday, Labor Day or the Holiday of Love, Day of Liberation from Fascism, Day of the Apostles Cyril and Methodius, Day of Jan Hus, Independence Day of the Czech Republic, Day of the Struggle for Freedom and Democracy, Christmas Eve and Christmas.

How to make an appointment at the Consular Section of the Czech Embassy

This can be done by calling +7 499 703 49 72 or +7 499 704 55 61. When registering, you must provide the details of your passport, the call center specialist will tell you the time. Please note that this is only the time of entry to the consulate, and not the direct submission of documents. How long will you wait inside - no one knows. Personally, I sat for an hour. Try to make an appointment as early as possible and take a paper book for everyone, because inside all electronic devices you will be asked to turn off.

What documents are needed

Basic documents

As I already wrote, the list of documents that Czechs require is not at all complicated. When submitting documents, you must provide:

  • international passport. Its validity period must exceed the validity period of your future visa by 3 months or more. You must also make a photocopy of the first page. It is better to prepare everything in advance, but for the especially forgetful in the consulate there is an automatic machine for making copies and printing documents;
  • 1 color photograph, size 3.5 x 4.5 centimeters. The visa application center in Moscow also has a photo booth, but not very convenient;
  • a questionnaire that is filled in in Latin letters. You can go to the consular department or visa center for it, but it seems to me that it is much easier to download it from the official website of the Czech Embassy and print it out at home on your own. Fill out the form very carefully so that later you do not have to waste your own and other people's time on rewriting at the consulate. If we talk about a multiple entry visa, then it can be obtained for up to 5 years. However, for such a long period, it is rarely issued, and, frankly, not for everyone, except for people who already have such visas in their passports. The most common option is the multivisa for 1 year. To receive it in the questionnaire, in paragraph 24, check the box for "multiple departure", in paragraph 25, put 90, in paragraph 29, put the start date of the trip, in paragraph 30 - the date from paragraph 29 plus a year and minus one day (example: 01/08/2016 -07.01.2017). There are many chances to get an annual multivisa, the Czechs give them without any problems. In any case, be sure to show copies of past visas, if any. If they do not give multi - they will give the usual one;
  • medical insurance, which is valid in the Schengen area, in the amount of at least 30 thousand euros. It only needs to be issued for the first entry, even if you receive a multiple entry visa;
  • a photocopy of the first and second pages of the civil passport;
  • confirmation of accommodation, that is, a voucher from the hotel. This is a required document. If you still do not know where you will live, then it is enough to make a reservation on any site such as Booking, present a booking confirmation, and then withdraw the reservation. Personally, I searched for accommodation through AirBnb, provided confirmation from the site and there were no problems. Please note that the confirmation must contain the full name of each tourist;
  • financial security document, that is, a statement from your account. The minimum amount that must be in the account is 1100 Czech crowns (approximately 41 euros, the exchange rate is still stable) for one day of stay in the country. Travelers under 18 need to have half of this amount;
  • confirmation of booking tickets for the plane, train, bus round trip. An unpaid confirmed ticket is not a fake ticket. This is not a fake. Therefore, such a document can also be provided;
  • visa fee 30 euros, in case of obtaining an express visa - 70 euros. Please note that payments are made in this currency only. You can also pay by card.

What documents do children need

  • a copy of the birth certificate of a young tourist;
  • a copy of the parent's valid Schengen visa, if it already exists and is not requested at the same time as the child;
  • consent to leave if the child is traveling with only one parent. It must be notarized. If the child is traveling alone, then consent is required from both parents to travel independently.

Additional documents

The documents I listed above were enough for me personally. But if possible, it is also good to take one of the following with you:

  • a certificate from the place of work with an indication of the salary;
  • form 2 personal income tax or 3 personal income tax;
  • sponsorship letter from who will finance the trip.

If these documents are not there, then it's okay. Most people confirm the financial viability of a bank certificate, so you can safely submit only it.

Is personal presence at the filing of documents required

Yes, in order to obtain a visa, you need to go directly to the consulate. This does not apply to children under 12 years of age. The whole procedure has become more complicated due to fingerprinting, which was introduced for a Schengen visa not so long ago. But there is an exception: if you have already received any Schengen visa since September 14, 2015, that is, handed over your prints, then the application can be submitted by power of attorney. The main thing is to provide a copy of this Schengen visa, in which there is a note on the submission of fingerprints.

Visa Application Processing Time

The visa processing time is 4 working days, including the day of filing and the day of issue. You can not worry about the punctuality of the Czechs in this matter, I received all the documents on time. Although it is always, of course, better to play it safe and go ahead. There is also an opportunity to consider an application in an accelerated mode, that is, in 3 working days, but such a visa will cost twice as much.

It should also be borne in mind that the processing time for applications in regional offices is 5-6 working days. Plus, it is necessary to add another 2-3 days to this deadline for the delivery of documents to Moscow to the Embassy and back. In regional centers, as you might expect, you cannot order an express visa. So in this regard, those who serve directly in Moscow are to some extent lucky.

Is it possible to visit the Czech Republic without a Schengen visa in the passport

You can get to some countries without a visa for a certain amount of time. For example, if you are flying with a stopover in London, but you do not have a British visa, then you can still walk around this city. Unfortunately, this does not work in the Czech Republic. Passengers without a Schengen visa in their passports are prohibited from leaving the airport transit zone. And you can stay in it for no more than 24 hours.

How to travel with animals

It didn't really concern me, but one of my friends, who lives in Prague, went home with her pet. She said that you can only enter if your animal has a microchip or a tattoo. You should also have the following documents on hand:

  • veterinary passport of international standard;
  • a veterinary certificate, which must contain information about the vaccination against rabies and the treatment against worms;
  • the results of the analysis for antibodies to rabies.

An interesting feature: the import of birds to the Czech Republic is possible only through the Prague airport.

***

These are the simple rules that exist when obtaining a visa to the Czech Republic, you can easily cope without the help of a travel agency. At the entrance to customs, you may, like me, be asked the purpose of the trip. It is enough to answer one word - tourism, it is not at all necessary to tell how you will walk in the evenings on the magnificent Charles Bridge and sip delicious beer in pubs.

I wish you good luck with your visa and a pleasant trip to this fabulous country!

In other cases, you can apply through the visa center, but the period may increase, since the staff will send your papers to the embassy in any case.

Collecting documents

To obtain visas to the Czech Republic, you must collect a set of documents. There is a basic kit and an additional one. The main one is necessary for everyone, without exception, whether you are a tourist or a future employee of a Czech company. But additional papers will be needed for certain categories of citizens.

The main

The first thing to prepare is visa application ... We talk about it in more detail below.

Also, to obtain Schengen visas, you need to attach your foreigner with two blank pages for affixing visa stamps. An important point: the validity of the passport. It shouldn't end during or immediately after your trip. It is necessary that the period ends at least 3 months after you return home.

Make a photocopy of the first page of a foreigner, a photocopy of an ordinary civil passport (those pages where your registration and personal data are indicated), and attach them to the main set.

Prepare photo size 3.5x4.5 cm ... There are usually many requirements for it, you can see some of them below.

You also need to attach receipt of payment of fees ... Payment is made directly to the visa center or embassy before submitting documents. In case of cancellation, fees are non-refundable.

Be sure to include proof of your financial soundness. It could be , an extract from the bank, a certificate of registration of an individual entrepreneur and an extract from the tax office, personal data and a certificate from the sponsor's work.

You also need to open a bank account and put an amount there at the rate of 43 Euros per day. That is, if you are traveling for 3 days, then 129 Euro must be in the account to obtain a visa.

Additional

There are also additional documents for obtaining visa documents. The list of these papers depends on the purpose for which you are going to the Czech Republic.

Documents for visiting relatives or friends by invitation:

  • The original of the invitation letter, which must be notarized. You can print the invitation on a computer or write it manually. The main thing is that it should be certified.
  • Personal data of the inviting person (copy of the passport) and a document confirming the legality of his stay in the Czech Republic (residence permit, for example).

Documents for work by invitation from a Czech company:

  • The original invitation letter, which was written by a legal entity. You need to draw up on the letterhead of the company in which you are invited to work. The invitation must necessarily contain the director's signature and seal.

If you have real estate in the Czech Republic, then for Czech visas for Czech visas you need to provide an extract from the real estate cadastre.

For kids

The list of documents for Schengen visas for minors also differs from the main list. It is necessary to prepare basic documents and the following additional papers:

  • Please attach a photocopy of your birth certificate. You do not need to provide the original.
  • If the accompanying parent already has a valid Schengen visa, then you need to make a photocopy of it and attach it to the set of documents.
  • In the case when a minor travels accompanied by one parent, written consent is required from the second. It must be certified by a notary. If a child travels without parents, then the consent must be written from two parents and also notarized.

If the child is under 14 years old and he has not yet received a passport, then the visa is stamped in the parent's passport. Therefore, you need to make sure that there are more than two blank pages in the foreign language.

Self-registration

Self-registration of visas to the Czech Republic for Russians is not a myth. The list of documents is large, there are many requirements, but you can easily prepare all the papers yourself. Well, if you have difficulties filling out the questionnaire, for example, you can request a service for the paid preparation of documents from the specialists of the visa center.

Through the visa center

The most convenient way to apply for a visa document to the Czech Republic is through visa centers. They are in many cities of Russia, so you don't have to go to Moscow or St. Petersburg to the embassy. The Visa Application Center also provides additional paid services for processing your documents, which is very convenient.

To apply for a visa, you need the site of the center you have chosen and familiarize yourself with all the background information regarding opening hours and application submission. In most cases, documents are accepted in the morning. In some centers, you need to pre-register, and in some you can apply by simply standing in a live queue. Check with the center of your choice for the filing rules.

When registering for the issuance of a visa, you will be assigned a personal number, which you must have with you. Also, you will be assigned the date and time of the appointment. Don't be late. Come a little early in order to have time to pay the consular and visa fees.

There is not much left until the receipt of Schengen visas to the Czech Republic. Submit your documents and wait. In one to two weeks you will receive an answer and can collect your documents.

Through an official representative

If you urgently need to make a visa to the Czech Republic, then it is better to apply not through the visa center, but through the official Czech representative office. This can be a consulate or an embassy. This way you can shorten the time for consideration of documents. This option is especially convenient for those who live in Moscow or St. Petersburg, and also has the ability to quickly and inexpensively get to these cities.

To the Czech Republic, Schengen visas through the embassy are always obtained by appointment. All other actions are the same as in the case of the visa center, except for fees. In this case, visa fees are not paid, only consular fees.

Is it worth overpaying for travel agency services?

Now there are many travel agencies that offer you visas for an additional fee. It is quite obvious that in this case, the cost of processing visa documents will increase, since you will have to pay for intermediary services. Should you use them?

The answer is not obvious. On the one hand, a travel agency will save you time and effort. There is no need to understand the bureaucratic peculiarities, the rules for filling out documents and stand in line at the visa center. The staff of the intermediary firm will do everything for you.

On the other hand, you must understand that there is always a risk of being denied a visa, even if you apply for it through an intermediary firm. Some firms provide a guarantee for obtaining visas, but a positive outcome is rarely predictable. Too many factors affect the outcome. In this case, you have to urgently go and apply for a visa yourself.

Should you use intermediaries? You decide. This is convenient, but not always effective. In our opinion, it is better to contact the employees of the visa center, and they will arrange all your papers for a small fee.

Instead of a conclusion

Do CIS citizens need visas when traveling to Schengen countries? Definitely yes. Tourist visas to the Czech Republic for Russians are especially popular, since they are easier to obtain. In this article, we tried to tell in detail what documents are needed to apply for visas to the Czech Republic, how much visas to the Czech Republic cost, and what conditions must be met in order not to get a refusal from the consul. We wish you good luck on the road!

Are you going to the Czech Republic? Need a visa? Read: what documents need to be prepared for obtaining a visa, where they can be submitted, how much it will cost, and how long it will take.

About Czech visa

Are you going to the Czech Republic? You need to apply for a visa. The Czech Republic is a Schengen country, and a Czech visa provides its holders with the right to visit any of the Schengen countries. As well as vice versa: Schengen holders of any other country will be able to cross the border of the Czech Republic. Registration of a Czech visa will become possible if the Czech Republic is declared the main purpose of your trip, i.e. it will be the main country of your stay, based on the number of days. And if you plan to spend the same number of days in another Schengen state, the Czech Republic must be recorded as the country of entry.

It is possible to obtain a visa to the Czech Republic through a travel agency, but many tourists prefer to act independently. The hassle of collecting documents, perhaps, with this option will not be more, and time costs and monetary investments will be noticeably reduced.

We get a visa on our own

You can contact the Moscow Embassy of the Czech Republic or the Consulate General of the Czech Republic located in Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg. The visa centers of Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Novosibirsk and N. Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, as well as Samara, St. Petersburg and Moscow are engaged in the issuance of exclusively short-term Schengen visas. All types of visas are issued in Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk, Sochi, Ufa, Khabarovsk. To submit documents to the consulate, you must register in advance. Visa centers accept people on a "live" queue.

How long does it take to get a visa?

So that your trip is not disrupted due to bureaucratic difficulties, consider the length of the procedure. As a rule, it is 5 working days, but keep in mind: in visa centers in cities far from the capital, a couple of days are added to the standard period for the transfer of your documents to the consulate and for their return. Pay at the consulates of the Czech Republic and at the embassy in € (currently the consular fee is 35 €). Visa centers accept payment in rubles, plus a service fee of 1000 rubles. You can apply for a Czech visa urgently - within three days. The procedure will cost twice as much as the standard one, but the amount of the service fee will remain unchanged.

Don't forget to book your hotel!

An indispensable condition for successfully obtaining a visa is the advance reservation of the hotel. Moreover, here you need to carefully track the documentary confirmation of the reservation from the administration of each hotel where you are going to live (ask for a fax). When traveling on a visit, an invitation from a private person will be a confirmation of the purpose of the visit.

Advance purchase (booking) of tickets is also required. Your financial status will also have to be officially documented: the availability of free funds is 50-55 € per one day of stay (for children, half of the amount is enough). Your financial solvency will be confirmed by a bank statement showing the movement in the account in the last three months.
