A directory of codes for types of documents identifying a taxpayer is given in Appendix No. 1 to the Filling Out Procedure, approved. By order of the Federal Tax Service of Russia dated October 2, 2018 N ММВ-7-11/566@.
So, for example, the passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation corresponds to code 21.

This means that the digital codes of identification documents of an individual indicated above, as a rule, can be used when submitted to tax office other documents that require filling out the “Document Type Code” indicator.
