Are you going to the Czech Republic? Need a visa? Read: what documents need to be prepared for obtaining a visa, where they can be submitted, how much it will cost, and how long it will take.

About Czech visa

Are you going to the Czech Republic? You need to apply for a visa. The Czech Republic is a Schengen country, and a Czech visa provides its holders with the right to visit any of the Schengen countries. As well as vice versa: Schengen holders of any other country will be able to cross the border of the Czech Republic. Registration of a Czech visa will become possible if the Czech Republic is declared the main purpose of your trip, i.e. it will be the main country of your stay, based on the number of days. And if you plan to spend the same number of days in another Schengen state, the Czech Republic must be recorded as the country of entry.

It is possible to obtain a visa to the Czech Republic through a travel agency, but many tourists prefer to act independently. The hassle of collecting documents, perhaps, with this option will not be more, and time costs and monetary investments will be noticeably reduced.

We get a visa on our own

You can contact the Moscow Embassy of the Chechen Republic or the Consulate General of the Czech Republic located in Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg. Only short-term Schengen visas are issued by visa centers in Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Novosibirsk and N. Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, as well as Samara, St. Petersburg and Moscow. All types of visas are issued in Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk, Sochi, Ufa, Khabarovsk. To submit documents to the consulate, you must register in advance. Visa centers accept people on a "live" queue.

How long does it take to make a visa?

So that your trip is not disrupted due to bureaucratic difficulties, consider the length of the procedure. As a rule, it is 5 working days, but keep in mind: in visa centers in cities far from the capital, a couple of days are added to the standard period for the transfer of your documents to the consulate and for their return. Pay at the consulates of the Czech Republic and at the embassy in € (currently the consular fee is 35 €). Visa centers accept payment in rubles, plus a service fee of 1000 rubles. You can apply for a Czech visa urgently - within three days. The procedure will cost twice as much as the standard one, but the amount of the service fee will remain unchanged.

Don't forget to book your hotel!

An indispensable condition for successfully obtaining a visa is the advance reservation of the hotel. Moreover, here you need to carefully track the documentary confirmation of the reservation from the administration of each hotel where you intend to live (ask for a fax). When traveling on a visit, the invitation of a private person will be the confirmation of the purpose of the visit.

Advance purchase (booking) of tickets is also required. Your financial status will also have to be officially documented: the availability of free funds is 50-55 € per one day of stay (for children, half of the amount is enough). Your financial solvency will be confirmed by a bank statement showing the movement in the account in the last three months.

Consular Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Moscow

Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Murmansk, Kaliningrad, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnoyarsk, Ufa, Irkutsk, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Krasnodar, Omsk, Perm and Saratov.

I have repeatedly issued a visa both at the Embassy of the Czech Republic and at the service and visa center of the Czech Republic in Moscow. The difference is convenience. The consular officer does not owe us anything, and therefore I signed up three times and twice didn’t accept my documents at the Embassy, as they always had some kind of quit. Either the insurance is in dollars, or the voucher from the owner of the apartment is different.

Unlike the Embassy, the Visa Service Center owes us, because the service for submitting documents is paid - 25 € for each applicant (except for children under 6 years old). It should be noted that from 15.08.2019, the Czech Republic Visa Service Center in Moscow accepts documents only by appointment! But, as before, they will help you fill out the questionnaire and correct mistakes (if any). Here you can also take out insurance and take a photo correctly. But the decision of where to submit the documents is, of course, yours!

An application for a short-term Schengen visa to the Czech Republic for the purpose of tourism or medical treatment is usually reviewed by the Embassy of the Czech Republic within 5 working days (including the day of submission and issue).

Two simple steps to get 100% Schengen visas to the Czech Republic

Step 1: It is necessary to collect and bring us the necessary documents (described above). If fingerprints have already been submitted, personal presence is not required, and residents of other cities can send their documents by mail.

If the prints were not submitted, you can even transfer the documents by courier, but you will have to drive up and submit the prints to the consulate.

Step 2: Pick up your passport with a visa at the office or receive it by mail at a convenient place and at a convenient time. (To receive a passport with a visa by mail, you must order this service from a carrier operating in your area, for example, DHL, EMS or another courier service.)

Refusal of a Schengen visa

Refusal of a visa to the Czech Republic is not uncommon, although if you carefully look at who is applying for a visa and how they do it, it is worth noting that, despite all the loyalty, it will be difficult for these persons to get a visa to any EU country.

Most often, the reasons are standard:

  • errors in filling out documents;
  • incorrectly collected documents (they are not enough or they do not meet the requirements, there are not sufficient financial guarantees);
  • there were violations of the immigration regime or the rule of law in previous trips.

We do not share the point of view of the EU consulates, but we noticed that they are quite biased towards certain nationalities and regions of residence and birth of persons applying for a visa (the Caucasus, Central Asia and the Transcaucasus).

But there are also not very standard refusals, which refuseniks do not always understand and accept, although based on the realities, they are quite reasonable from the point of view of the European Union. Such examples might include a beard, given that the visa applicant was born in the Caucasus or Central Asia and lives in Moscow. On a reasonable remark that it is fashionable, we can recommend visiting other countries that are loyal to this kind of fashion.

it should be borne in mind that in case of refusal, the person who received it can reapply for a visa, eliminating the reasons for the refusal. It should be borne in mind that the visa service and other fees will have to be paid again.

note

With a Czech multi-visa, you can also enter a number of countries that are not part of the Schengen agreement, but which admit to themselves on a Schengen visa (Bulgaria, Romania, Cyprus, Croatia). Only the Czech Republic can be visited with a single entry visa.

A Schengen visa must be applied for in the country where you are going to spend more days.

The countdown of the period of 180 days, during which a tourist can stay in the country for up to 90 days, occurs in the reverse order from each day of stay.

We kindly ask you to pay attention to the relevance, size of photographs and requirements for the size of the face on them.

Each applicant must submit his / her complete set of documents, even if the applicants are traveling together.

For minor children, it is always necessary to attach a copy of the birth certificate.

When planning a trip, you should act on the basis of the situation. If there is no real confirmation of the place of residence, tickets, insurance, experience in filling out a visa application, it is better not to risk it. For many years we have been helping you to issue visas in a short time with a minimum package of documents. Using our services, you can be 99.9% sure that your visa will be issued on time. In practice, there are very few refusals and they are associated with violations of laws on the territory of the European Union (failure to comply with the terms of stay in the country, not paying fines, being brought to the police, etc.).

  • International passport. Check its validity period: according to the 2020 rules, it must be at least 3 months (you need to count from the estimated date of the end of your trip);
  • Old foreigner, as well as a copy of all its pages;

Copies of pages of old passports with previously obtained visas is a prerequisite for obtaining a multiple-entry Schengen visa.

  • Copies of Russian passport pages;
  • A completed application form. You can download its form, and read the rules of registration here;
  • Photo (1 piece). The photo must be on a white background, with a face occupying 80% of the image area.

The size of the photo is 3.5 * 4.5 cm. You can familiarize yourself with the detailed requirements for photos in force in 2020, and examples of correctly and incorrectly taken pictures;

  • Certificate from work, made not earlier than a month ago. It indicates the length of service in this organization, the size of the salary, the position, the fact that you retain a job for the entire period of your trip to Europe;

If you are not working, attach a sponsorship letter stating that the costs of your trip are borne by a third party, a certificate of the state of his bank account, a copy of the pages of a double-page spread with a photo and a double-page spread with registration of his Russian passport.

  • A bank statement or a photocopy of a bank card + a check from an ATM;
  • Proof of financial solvency. According to the requirements of 2020, you must have an amount equivalent to at least 1010 Czech crowns per day (that is, just over 3 thousand Russian rubles). This rule only applies to trips that are less than 30 days. If your trip lasts from 30 to 60 days, the total amount of funds required is 34,340 CZK (approximately 105 thousand rubles). If you expect to stay in the Czech Republic from 60 to 90 days, you need to certify the consular officer that you have an amount of 38,380 Czech crowns (this is about 117 thousand rubles).

Persons under the age of 18 in 2020 are allowed to confirm the presence of only half of the above amount, that is, for example, for a trip that lasts less than a month, it is not 1010 kroons, but only 505 kroons.

  • It doesn't matter if you are traveling exclusively to Prague (where prices are, of course, higher) or if you plan to visit several Czech cities - the amount will be the same.

You can prove your financial viability in different ways. You can make a certificate from the bank (see an example), an account statement from an ATM will do. You also need to attach a photocopy of your bank card (its number must be clearly visible on the copy);

A check from an ATM must be made no earlier than 3 days ago from the date of submission of documents. The "shelf life" of the certificate is more - 30 days.

  • Medical insurance policy. It should operate throughout the Schengen area, and not just in the Czech Republic. In 2020, the amount of coverage must be at least EUR 30,000;
  • Round-trip tickets. It is not necessary to pay, a reservation will do;
  • Receipt for payment of the consular fee. You will be given it after the fact of payment.

additional information

Above we examined the standard list of documents for a Czech visa. Depending on the type of visa requested, you may need other information about the applicant:

  1. For tourist visa- booking a hotel room or apartment / room / room in a hostel. According to the rules of 2020, there is no need to pay for accommodation in advance.
  2. For guest- letter of invitation from the host. It indicates that you will be staying with the author of the letter, the dates of the trip, the address of residence of the applicant, the contact details of the author of the letter are specified. The document is certified by a notary. If your friend / relative not only provides you with accommodation, but also pays for your travel expenses, this should also be noted. It is not necessary to provide the original letter of invitation. A facsimile version or a document sent by e-mail will also work.
  3. For business- letter of invitation from a Czech company. It is drawn up on the letterhead of the organization indicating its details. The letter indicates why you are coming to the Czech Republic, for how long, where you will live, who pays your expenses.
  4. For a work visa- the main document in this case is a work permit. This document is issued by the Czech Labor Office. It is drawn up by your future employer and then sent to you by courier service, fax or e-mail. Czech legislation in this regard is not very strict - it is not necessary to provide the original document.
  5. For medical treatment visa- a document issued by a medical institution located in the Czech Republic. It indicates the reason for the need to undergo treatment here, as well as the estimated length of your stay in the country and a preliminary estimate of the cost of treatment. This document should be accompanied by the recommendations of your doctor.
  6. For a student visa. There are many educational institutions in Prague, so many immigrants from the CIS countries go to the Czech Republic to study. In this case, in addition to the standard list of documents, you will need to provide a certificate of your enrollment in an educational institution (drawn up on the letterhead of the organization). In addition, in this case, other requirements for the financial viability of the applicant will apply: persons under 18 must have at least 40,700 kroons for six months, older persons - at least 81,400 kroons.

Documents for the child

If you are traveling to the Czech Republic with a child, this is a good idea - Prague, and other Czech cities, will surely please even the smallest traveler. However, in this case, it is necessary to take care of the preparation of additional documents in advance:

  • A copy of the child's birth certificate;
  • If the child is traveling not with both parents, but only with one or without them at all (for example, as part of a school tour to Prague), you will need to obtain the consent of one / both parents for the child to leave the country and a power of attorney for a third person accompanying the child. This document must be provided in the original, previously certified by a notary.

Where to submit documents?

You can apply for a visa to the Czech Republic either through intermediaries or on your own at a consulate or visa center. The list of documents in each case, regardless of the method of filing the application, will be the same. The only exception is when you buy a tourist package to Prague or other cities in the Czech Republic. In this case, all the worries associated with obtaining an entry permit are undertaken by the tour operator, and you do not need to provide a hotel reservation, tickets, or documents about your financial solvency. The voucher is the only proof of all of the above.

The Czech Republic is a great travel destination. In addition to Prague, there are many other interesting cities for tourists. Many people come here to study, work, some even consider the Czech Republic as their main place of residence. The list of documents for a visa to this country is very standard. In 2020, it is not difficult to obtain a permit to enter the Czech Republic - the main thing is to responsibly approach the collection of the necessary information. Provide only truthful information about yourself, fill out all the necessary forms in full accordance with the requirements, and you are unlikely to be denied the necessary permission.
